Hedwiges Maduro (born February 13, 1985 in Almere) is a rising Dutch football midfield star currently with AFC Ajax Amsterdam. He made his first team debut against Roda JC on February 26, 2005. He was called up to the national team after having played only three league games for Ajax, making his debut against Romania.
A skilful midfield playmaker whose composure on the field belies his tender years. He captained his country to the quarter-finals of the World Youth Cup in 2005, also the year he made his debut in a crucial World Cup qualifying win in Romania - just a month after his senior club debut. Has been a starter or sub for Holland ever since. Will probably just miss out on a starting spot but will definitely see action off the bench.
